Banana Bread

Everyone needs a banana bread recipe… so here’s an easy, one bowl recipe.

  • 3-4 ripe bananas

  • 1/3 cup melted, unsalted butter

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/8 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 cup caster sugar

  • 1 1/2 cups plain flour

  • optional: walnuts/pecans/macadamia nuts

Ingredients:

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

  2. Mix the mashed bananas, butter, egg, vanilla, cinnamon and salt together in a large bowl.

  3. Add the baking powder, baking soda and sugar. Mix.

  4. Fold in the flour.

  5. If adding nuts, fold it in now.

  6. Pour batter into tin and bake for 30-60 minutes (or until tester comes out clean) - if making mini loaves, the bake time will be less.

  7. Enjoy!

Notes:

  • For added crunch, add walnuts/pecans/macadamias in the batter.

  • This recipe can be made as mini loaves (bake time will be less) or as a normal-sized loaf.

  • Serve with butter.

  • Banana bread can be frozen.
