My Only Hope

10 . 04 . 2026

Every year for Easter, I usually like to post something to remind us all of the true meaning of why we celebrate. On Good Friday, the post is about Jesus dying on the cross for our sins, so we can be forgiven. On the Sunday, the post is about Jesus rising from the dead, symbolising His victory of sin and death. However, this year I had it on my heart to post something a little different. Now please don’t get me wrong, those posts are ABSOLUTELY about the reason we celebrate - and there is nothing wrong with them!! But, I felt that most people will click on my story (post) and instantly skip it because they’ve seen the same posts elsewhere. Also, for those that don’t know Jesus and follow Him, the nailing on the cross and coming back to life again, is quite a confusing, intense and surreal thing to capture. So, I wanted to post something that made [hopefully] more sense, especially to those that don’t know Jesus, but still equally reveals the true meaning of Easter!

I made it plain and simple. I shared my personal experience. In the book of Acts, Paul preaches to non-believers by sharing his testimony (his transformation to becoming a Christ follower). In this way, he shows others that they too are worthy of following and accepting Jesus into their lives, instead of just saying things they don’t even understand (even if it’s good things). Paul’s personal story also allowed others to relate to what he is saying and it may have made a bit more sense to them.

This year on Good Friday, I shared a video of a scenic landscape that had the words “Meeting Jesus is like seeing the world in technicolour after a lifetime of black and white” displayed on it. Additionally, I wrote a caption that said, “Jesus is the only thing that gives me true PEACE and JOY, no matter my circumstances!!”. I felt that if I share my reason to following Jesus, it may give others a better understanding into the life I’m able to live with Jesus, and why I follow Him.

On Sunday (or should I say Son-day, hehe), I shared a post that displayed a simple line: “And because He lives, we are never without hope”. I want people to know that by following Jesus, and what He did for us on that cross, that we can live with hope for the future, hope for better days and hope knowing that God is in control! Easter Sunday reminds us of this.

My goal is to tell others about the love, the hope, the peace, the comfort and the joy we can ALL have, just by following and believing in Jesus. This is why we celebrate Easter. We celebrate because “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

So, instead of just posting something because everyone else is doing so, I encourage you to consider your audience. Our words are powerful and have the ability, just like Paul’s, to change lives, even in small ways. Let’s plant seeds, so God can do the rest and grow a garden.

“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace” Acts 20:24

Lots of love, Cara
