White Chocolate Ganache, Jelly tot Cake
The perfect cake for someone who isn’t a big fan of traditional buttercream (icing)!
A few years ago, I made this cake for my mom’s birthday. Since she doesn’t love buttercream icing, I decided to make a white chocolate ganache instead (with good quality chocolate of course! Our favourite white chocolate is Nestle’s classic Milky bar slab).
One of her favourite sweets (lollies) are Jelly Tots, a South African chewy treat. So I decorated the cake with them to add some colour to the very beige cake (plus, they pair so well with white chocolate!).
So, maybe next time someone in your life celebrates their birthday, why don’t you try bake them a cake and pair their favourite toppings together?!
Here are some more ideas:
milk chocolate ganache & strawberries
American buttercream & sprinkles
creme mousseline (a custard icing), strawberries & cookies
Swiss meringue buttercream (a marshmallow-like icing) with chocolate drizzle & cookie crumbs (maybe a s’mores-inspired cake?)
whipped cream, fruit and chocolate
